Employee Salary
Each Starbucks location needs to have a certain number of employees in order to keep their business running. These employees work hard and need to be payed for every hour they completed their tasks.
Inventory and Products
Starbucks needs to pay for the production costs of their coffee beans and other items for their products. Things like plates, cup, spoons/forks also need to be considered as part of their inventory.
Transportation Costs
For their products and supplies to reach each Starbucks location, they need to pay for the trucks to deliver everything that certain branch needs. These costs include the fuel for their vehicles as well as the actual trucks themselves.
Purchasing Machinery
In each Starbucks location, they have a lot of machinery to help make the food and beverages. This includes machines like the expresso machine, the cash register and the other machinery in the kitchen. These machines cost a lot of money to be bought, maintained and updated.
Utilities
For each building, whether it's a Starbucks location or not, they need the basic necessities. This can include the gas, the water and the electricity. These utilities are very convenient and essential but they come with a cost.
Rent/Mortgage
Each Starbucks location has someone in charge, an owner. This is very important seeing that not only one person can manage all the branches across the world. They have to pay the rent for that specific location.
Opening New Locations
Their business is successful because of all the locations they have around the North America and the rest of the world. A lot of money is put into opening each new location.
